Candid Photos
Come Back
This photo was taken as my cat was chasing a grasshopper. This is a candid shot because you can see her in mid step as she goes after the grasshopper.
This photo was taken in Taylor, Arizona.

Experiments in Lighting
Bright Side
This photo shows good lighting. The lighting gives a warm, yet soft look and allows your attention to rest on the cat.

Shadow
This photo is an example of bad lighting. Instead of a complete silhouette, the lighting was wrong an allowed detail to be barely seen on the dog's face. Instead of giving a mysterious vibe, it irritates you because you can only slightly see details.

Morning
Photos taken in the morning tend to have a softer look to them, and usually seem brighter.
(Note that many pictures I take in the morning don't usually look this colorless. I'm not entirely sure why this happened.)

Midday
Photos taken during midday are usually harsher in lighting and less appealing to the eye.

Story of a Sunset
~ ~ ~
~ ~ ~
This is the story of a sunset, from beginning to end. It shows the changes and development as time goes on, allowing you to compare them and visibly notice the differences.
I had a few troubles while taking these photos because it was below 32 degrees outside (when I finished it was 22 degrees) and there were harsh winds. At many points, I laid down on the weeds, dirt, rocks, and even the road to get the perfect shot. I also had to cover a lot of ground to take a variety of sunset pictures in a short period of time.
This photo was taken only a few minutes before the colors of the sunset set fire to the sky. The sky took on a bright yellow color and created a strong vibe of warmth.
This photo uses rule of thirds, and interesting lighting.
Edits:
Some slight edits to brightness, contrast, and saturation.Cropped.

Trail of Fire
This photo was take only five minutes after the first picture. By this point, the sky had made a dramatic change in colors. This is entitled Trail of Fire because of the ring of clouds that was left by a jet.
This photo uses rule of thirds, color, and lighting.
Edits:
Some slight edits to brightness, contrast, and saturation.Cropped.

Watch Them Go
Only a few minutes after the former picture and the sky has changed very little. However, the contrast of the silhouette of the bush against the bright colors of the sky allowed this photo more character.

Flaming Fields
This was taken five minutes after the last one, and the sky had darkened in color, darker oranges and a slight red introduced to the sky.

Portraits and Landscapes
Once
This photo has great lighting. The light is not harsh, but lights up the model's face. The background is not distracting but allows the photo more depth.

This photo is bland, but I personally like the loneliness it gives. This landscape has a deep depth of field.

Dark Portraits
Alone
This picture was originally bright, but turning it to black and white, the atmosphere of the photo dropped to one of loneliness. Since she is alone on the bench, it emphasizes that feeling.
